Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Karnak by William Tucker was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,303.39). Other works by William Tucker have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2007 by the work Beulah Xii at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,911.39).
