Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Ugly Hide's Ideas by William T. Wiley. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,976.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William T. Wiley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ediface Complex, 1981, which sold at auction in June 2020 for USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,326.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ugly Hide's Ideas von William T. Wiley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.976,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William T. Wiley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ediface Complex, 1981 beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.326,60) versteigert wurde.
