Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled, from Rothko Memorial Portfolio (A. 47) by William Scott was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in June this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,080.00 (€ 5,912.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bowl, Eggs and Lemons in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,071,650.00 (€ 1,354,601.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled, from Rothko Memorial Portfolio (A. 47) von William Scott wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.080,00 (€ 5.912,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bowl, Eggs and Lemons im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.071.650,00 (€ 1.354.601,53).
