The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,250.71), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Payne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping lying on the Tamar before Pentillie Castle in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36).
