Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn by William Merritt Chase was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 239,400.00 (€ 223,091.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Merritt Chase achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I Think I Am Ready Now (The Mirror, The Pink Dress) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,649,000.00 (€ 4,273,136.25).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Merritt Chase erzielen.
