Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life-Fruit by William Merritt Chase was auctioned at Bonhams in Marlborough, Massachusetts in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,000.00 (€ 30,035.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Merritt Chase achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I Think I Am Ready Now (The Mirror, The Pink Dress) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,649,000.00 (€ 4,273,136.25).

Die Arbeit Still Life-Fruit von William Merritt Chase kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Marlborough, Massachusetts zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.000,00 (€ 30.035,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
