The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,377.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).
