This artwork by William Meadows achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2006. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice sold for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,621.52) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).
