Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work Santa Maria della Salute from the Bacino; and The Grand Canal, Venice by William Meadows. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,883.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).
