Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work The Grand Canal, Venice; and The Guidecca, Venice by William Meadows. The price achieved of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,274.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Grand Canal, Venice; and The Guidecca, Venice von William Meadows zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.274,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Meadows auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.030,50).
