In the Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints and Folk Art auction, the work Young Boy with a Riding Crop changed hands for USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,256.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Matthew Prior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Group of Family Portraits in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 119,549.39).
