In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Triumphant Grace: Important Americana from the Collection of Barbara and Arun Singh, which included the work Baby With Rattle by William Matthew Prior. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,775.71), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Matthew Prior have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Group of Family Portraits in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 119,549.39).

Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Triumphant Grace: Important Americana from the Collection of Barbara and Arun Singh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Baby With Rattle von William Matthew Prior zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.775,71) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Matthew Prior auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Group of Family Portraits im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 156.000,00 (€ 119.549,39).
