Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In January 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints, Folk Art and, which included the work Portrait of Ella Frances Moore by William Matthew Prior. Here, the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,325.00 (€ 23,984.74). Admittedly, works by William Matthew Prior have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Group of Family Portraits in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 119,549.39).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints, Folk Art and durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Ella Frances Moore von William Matthew Prior zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.325,00 (€ 23.984,74) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Matthew Prior auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Group of Family Portraits im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 156.000,00 (€ 119.549,39).
