In the Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver and Prints auction, the work Portrait of a Young Girl in a Blue Dress changed hands for USD 6,600.00 (€ 5,057.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Matthew Prior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Group of Family Portraits in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 119,549.39).
