Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Piping Shepherd by William James Webbe was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,014.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).

Die Arbeit The Piping Shepherd von William James Webbe kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.014,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Webbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Owl.
