Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by William James Webbe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work Early Lambs sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,217.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William James Webbe erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting wurde die Arbeit Early Lambs für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.217,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Webbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 589.250,00 (€ 726.708,90).
