Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work A Street In Jerusalem by William James Webbe. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 25,748.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Street In Jerusalem von William James Webbe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 25.748,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Webbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 589.250,00 (€ 726.708,90).
