Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Summer: Still Life Of Strawberries, Peaches And Grapes; And Autumn: Still Life Of Apples And Cobnuts by William James Webbe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,616.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).

Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summer: Still Life Of Strawberries, Peaches And Grapes; And Autumn: Still Life Of Apples And Cobnuts von William James Webbe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.616,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Webbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Owl.
