Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Derwentwater Looking Towards Borrowdale by William James Blacklock was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011. The price achieved of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 67,300.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William James Blacklock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Miller's Homestead, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 116,500.00 (€ 164,263.54).
