In November 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work View To Hillsdale, Cumberland by William James Blacklock. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,318.99) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Blacklock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Miller's Homestead in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 116,500.00 (€ 164,263.54).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit View To Hillsdale, Cumberland von William James Blacklock zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.318,99) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Blacklock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Miller's Homestead im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 116.500,00 (€ 164.263,54).
