Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Street In Jerusalem by William James Webbe was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The price achieved of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,100.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).
