In June 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work David Standing with his Slingshot by Wilhelm Hunt Diederich. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,115.00 (€ 2,215.82), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilhelm Hunt Diederich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and Hound in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 391,500.00 (€ 348,433.61).

Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit David Standing with his Slingshot von Wilhelm Hunt Diederich zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.115,00 (€ 2.215,82) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Hunt Diederich erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and Hound im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.500,00 (€ 348.433,61).
