Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Jockey And His Mount by Wilhelm Hunt Diederich. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,280.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilhelm Hunt Diederich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and Hound in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 391,500.00 (€ 348,433.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jockey And His Mount von Wilhelm Hunt Diederich zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.280,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Hunt Diederich erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and Hound im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.500,00 (€ 348.433,61).
