Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Phantom Crane by William Holbrook Beard. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,889.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holbrook Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bears Picnic in January this year with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Phantom Crane von William Holbrook Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.889,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Holbrook Beard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bears Picnic im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 139.252,16).
