Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work The Witches Convention by William Holbrook Beard for USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,129.32). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Holbrook Beard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bears Picnic, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Witches Convention von William Holbrook Beard für USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.129,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Holbrook Beard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bears Picnic beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 151.200,00 (€ 139.252,16) versteigert wurde.
