In June 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Monk Pulling Donkey Laden With Baskets Of Vegetables by William Holbrook Beard for USD 1,063.00 (€ 963.56). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holbrook Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bears Picnic in January this year with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16).
