In January 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Liberation through Expression: Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Yaekle Building, Dated 1982 by William Hawkins. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,500.00 (€ 43,851.55), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Hawkins; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Puma Kitten, circa 1985 sold at auction in January 2017 with the realized price of USD 85,000.00 (€ 78,747.45).

Im Januar 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Liberation through Expression: Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yaekle Building, Dated 1982 von William Hawkins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 43.851,55) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Hawkins; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Puma Kitten, circa 1985 im Januar 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 85.000,00 (€ 78.747,45).
