In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Birch Trees Along A Tributary by William Hart. The result of USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,885.49) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Hart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Spring Day on the Hudson in January this year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,615.21).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birch Trees Along A Tributary von William Hart zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.885,49) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Hart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Spring Day on the Hudson im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 40.615,21).
