This artwork by William Francis Robinson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Sydney in August 2003. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Studies for the Four Seasons sold for AUD 12,925.00 (€ 7,635.47) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Francis Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 305,500.00 (€ 185,151.52).
