In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Beach Ceramic by William Francis Robinson. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,252.47), 57% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Francis Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 305,500.00 (€ 185,151.52).

Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beach Ceramic von William Francis Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.252,47) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Francis Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 305.500,00 (€ 185.151,52).
