Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Landscape with Two Creeks by William Francis Robinson. The price achieved of AUD 52,875.00 (€ 29,818.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Francis Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 305,500.00 (€ 185,151.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with Two Creeks von William Francis Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 52.875,00 (€ 29.818,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Francis Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 305.500,00 (€ 185.151,52).
