Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Of A Bearded Male Nude by William Etty was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,885.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Etty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study Of A Bearded Male Nude von William Etty kam im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.885,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Etty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
