Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Sleeping Female Nude by William Etty. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,101.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleeping Female Nude von William Etty zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.101,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
