Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by William Etty achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2020. In the Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper auction, the work Reclining Female Nude In An Interior sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,674.15) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Etty; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Venus And Her Satellites sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Etty erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Reclining Female Nude In An Interior für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.674,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Etty; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
