Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Reclining Female Nude By A Waterfall by William Etty. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,632.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Etty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reclining Female Nude By A Waterfall von William Etty zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.632,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Etty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
