Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work A Persian Solider by William Etty for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,370.28). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Etty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus And Her Satellites in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Persian Solider von William Etty für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.370,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Etty erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus And Her Satellites im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
