Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Glen Rosa, Isle Of Arran by William Dyce was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,331.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Dyce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Welsh Landscape With Two Women Knitting in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 654,411.93).
