Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Dyce could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PORTRAITS, BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS auction, the work Portrait Of Euphemia A. Murray Of Lintrose (B.1769) And Her Daughter, Half-Length, The Mother In A Red Dress, The Daughter In A White Dress changed hands for GBP 298.75 (€ 429.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Dyce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Welsh Landscape With Two Women Knitting in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 654,411.93).
In der Auktion PORTRAITS, BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of Euphemia A. Murray Of Lintrose (B.1769) And Her Daughter, Half-Length, The Mother In A Red Dress, The Daughter In A White Dress für GBP 298,75 (€ 429,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00.
