Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The day's bag by William Duffield was sold in the SPORTING ART AND DOGS auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The price achieved of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Duffield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 54,970.00 (€ 78,994.88).
