In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Pears, plums, grapes, pomergranites and hazelnuts by William Duffield. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,283.26), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Duffield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 54,970.00 (€ 78,994.88).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.970,00 (€ 78.994,88).
