Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work A still life of game by William Duffield. The price achieved of USD 6,325.00 (€ 5,372.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Duffield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 54,970.00 (€ 78,994.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A still life of game von William Duffield zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.325,00 (€ 5.372,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Duffield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.970,00 (€ 78.994,88).
