Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work A black grouse, a greyhen, a wood pigeon and a pheasant beside grapes, pears and a melon in a wicker basket, on a partially draped ledge by William Duffield. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,132.50). Admittedly, works by William Duffield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 54,970.00 (€ 78,994.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A black grouse, a greyhen, a wood pigeon and a pheasant beside grapes, pears and a melon in a wicker basket, on a partially draped ledge von William Duffield zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.132,50) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Duffield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.970,00 (€ 78.994,88).
