Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work Convolvulus and a bird's nest on a mossy bank by William Cruickshank. It changed hands for a price of GBP 573.60 (€ 866.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Cruickshank - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A cat and mouse with a pheasant and a rabbit in a larder; and Pheasant and a hare in a larder, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,421.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original durch, in der auch die Arbeit Convolvulus and a bird's nest on a mossy bank von William Cruickshank zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 866,84) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Cruickshank mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A cat and mouse with a pheasant and a rabbit in a larder; and Pheasant and a hare in a larder beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.421,28) versteigert wurde.
