Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self-portrait by William Crosbie was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 802.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Crosbie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Universal Female in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self-portrait von William Crosbie kam im September 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 802,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Crosbie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Universal Female im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.508,06).
