Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The connoisseur by William Crosbie was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in September 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,343.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Crosbie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Universal Female in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,508.06).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.343,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Crosbie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Universal Female im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.508,06).
