Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I, which included the work Landscape #3, New Mexico, 1980 by William Clift. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,698.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Clift - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portrait, Georgia O'Keeffe', which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,800.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape #3, New Mexico, 1980 von William Clift zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.698,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Clift mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portrait, Georgia O'Keeffe' beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.800,25) versteigert wurde.
