Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White House Ruin, Canyon de Chelly, Arizona, 1975 by William Clift was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,583.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Clift - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portrait, Georgia O'Keeffe', which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,800.25).

Die Arbeit White House Ruin, Canyon de Chelly, Arizona, 1975 von William Clift kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.583,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Clift mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portrait, Georgia O'Keeffe' beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.800,25) versteigert wurde.
