It achieved a price of USD 45,600.00 (€ 38,015.84), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Clarke Wontner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Valeria, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,742.63).
