This artwork by William Clarke Wontner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. In the British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures auction, the work Honeysuckle sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,553.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Clarke Wontner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Valeria in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,742.63).
