This artwork by William Bradley Lamond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2009. In the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Tea by the fire sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,009.52) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Bradley Lamond - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Firin' bannocks, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 5,640.00 (€ 8,170.24).
